Risk

In the fashion of true gamers the world round, Jacob revels in his first taste of WORLD DOMINATION the only true way to experience RISK (according to Alan Williams, by the way, he's gunning for you next!).

I learned my lesson too, about being nice to small defenseless children.

Pinewood Derby is for the boys! (yah right it is)

The side view.
I must admit it was fun. Jacob told Allen what he wanted his car to look like and Allen complied. Jacob did a lot of sanding and base painting but don't think for one second Allen didn't have the funnest week of this year....reliving the glory of Pinewoods gone before...

Jacob placed 5th out of 21 and was awarded the MOST COURTEOUS SCOUT award. His mother liked that but he thought it was kinda lame. Next year....there is always next year.

The Competition....The brown car right next to Jacob's was the winner overall.

Jacob's head in front there as Lightning smokes the competition!

Girls in the Bathroom.....

Jake may think it's bad now, sharing one bath with three girlys but this is just the beginning!

Just a typical night in the bathroom, an attempt to get Jora onboard with the whole "down with diapers" movement in our house (pipe dream, I fear) and two girls in the pink tub. This is before Julia pours water on Jo's head and the whole thing dissolves into hysteria. They now bathe seperately.

Julia and the Princess Cake, or Julia turns 3....

Hot on the heels of Jora's first birthday and Christmas comes Julia's third birthday!! In keeping with our December tradition, Julia is running a temperature of 103 degrees on her birthday. She still manages to rouse herself enough to open presents and lay on the couch admiring her Dad's handiwork on her first princess theme birthday cake. She did manage to avoid the official first day of true underwear wearing though.....

I'm a Barbie girl.......

........in a Barbie world.......
FANTASTIC!

Christmas, Shaw Style

It is a day of gifts, play, thanks, pajamas, videos, naps and picures~

Merry Christmas to all!

Just what Jake needs, an additional dose of SLY. Do these gloves make my hands look fat? My own princess camera-at last! I can now catch him in the act! No more timeouts for me!

"Holy Cow! I t will work on Dad too!"

" WHAT THE? How does Santa KNOW this stuff???"

"She's so beautiful, I can't look away."

"....And she's from JACOB"

no caption needed

"Seriously? One gift? Dude, this Santa Claus guy is waaaay over rated............."

Jora Jo is one year old!

Jora (obviously not at NIGHT) first day home

There were nights I was sure she wouldn't survive to one!
I can't remember ever being so tired or so miffed with a kid!
Luckily she is genetically engineered to be irresistable during daylight hours.....big blue eyes, hilarious grin, crazy dancing, belly laughing, sister pestering, irresistable child!! Yea, she made it to one, only 20 years left till she moves away to college!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JORA, JOSO, JOSEPHINA, JOJO.....

"I just ate my name.... hee hee"
"You said HOW MANY?? calories?!"
" So, you didn't think I really NEEDED unlimited minutes? Really?"

Bathtime for Jake, Need it or not

So, two months ago, Jacob gets baptized, once by himself and once by his Dad. On November 18th Jake joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It was fun to have Grandma and Grandpa here and to be with all our friends. We showed a slideshow of Eight years with Jacob and had such a large group we had to move from the primary room to the chapel. Here are a couple of the "Eight Years" pictures. Jacob and Brock in the jetted tub at Grandma's house.

Jacob, after the eight mile bike ride, four miles to the point, four miles back, yes, in August.

Oh, while Jacob was changing to his white baptismal clothes, he asked Allen if the water was warm. Allen told him to go check, so he did. He waded right in and said the water was fine! Allen turned around to see him up to his waist in the font. Needless to say, he was shivering when he put his cold, wet baptismal clothes BACK ON for the actual baptism about an hour later.
