Well, it has finally happened...Jacob has asked to go to school. Today is the first day.
We went to the Welcome Back Night and Jacob met his teacher, saw his classroom and explored the school. Jacob will be taking swimming this year at school and he already knows some kids from church and baseball.
The teacher only made me a little nervous when she proclaimed, no less than three times, that she is not mean only strict and that the kids will learn the difference. She then spent about 15 minutes explaining all the different ways that cursive writing can be done wrong. On the way home I asked Allen how often his cursive writing is critiqued in his occupation....hmmmmm. I'm not sold but we will see how it goes. I hope he is having fun!

I hate cursive!!! In fact, I can't even write in it. I had so much difficulty signing my new name when I got married because the only cursive I ever used was signing my OLD NAME!!!
Good luck Jacob!! (don't feel bad if you can't learn cursive lol)
Lar, I know you're probably tearing your hair out right now, but Jake is such a social (not to mention SMART) kid. Is he in the same class with Chloe? I'll be thinking about him all day.
I envy you a little bit. I wish my kids would ask to go to school! I almost registered Sam for school yesterday.
I would've been nervous too with the teacher saying they would learn the difference between being mean and being strict. You know, he'll survive and probably love it! If not you can HS next year. Enjoy the break this year just in case it doesn't last! Now you have lot of girl time!
hey girl, i didnt like my teacher who taught me cursive. she was mean and strict!!! how is jacob liking it? I think this will be really good for him.
